Conditions winter 2008/2009

Rates

Rates are in Swiss francs, per room, per night. They include half-board, unlimited access to our new, 2000 sq.m. Kronenhof Spa, our fitness centre, shuttle service to and from Pontresina railway station, service charge, resort tax and value-added tax. Prices subject to change. Rates in euro serve as a guide only (1 euro = CHF 1.60). The actual rate is calculated on the day of invoicing at the official exchange rate.

Double room, single occupancy

Family accommodation

Choose from a range of connected rooms of various categories. Parent room rates are listed under “Winter prices”. For children up to and including 14 years of age there is a 20-per-cent reduction on the base single room rate (does not apply to half-board). This special rate does not apply from 20 December 2008 to 13 January 2009.

Minimum stay

  • 20.12.08 – 13.01.09 minimum stay 10 days
  • 07.02.09 – 22.02.09 minimum stay 7 days
  • 19.02.09 – 26.02.09 minimum stay 5 days
  • 09.04.09 – 13.04.09 minimum stay 4 days
  • Arrival between Friday and Sunday minimum stay 3 days

Extended stays

For stay of ten nights or more the discount is ten per cent on the base rate. These discounts do not apply to half-board or additional beds. The discount does not apply from 30 January to 8 March 2009 or to package deals. Special conditions apply for the festive season (20 December 2008 to 13 January 2009) - please ask for details.

Children are most welcome

Our childminder at the Krönchen Club hotel kindergarten looks after our guests aged three or older with fun and games.

Gourmet half-board

The half-board option adds culinary excitement to your holidays as you choose from these options:

  • Grand Restaurant (built in 1872 in Neo-Baroque style)
    Variable half-board based on a five-course menu with new culinary highlights every day, including roast days, gala menus with complimentary aperitifs, dessert or fish starter course buffets.

  • Restaurant Kronenstübli - international cuisine with a distinctly regional flair
    At our à la carte restaurant Kronenstübli, currently has a Gault Millau rating of 16 points we will grant you a credit note worth CHF 35.- / € 22.- per adult guest towards a meal in this restaurant, not valid on Friday and Saturday.

  • Dine Around with our Sister hotel Kulm in St. Moritz
    Enjoy your dinner during your stay at the “Grand Restaurant” of the Kulm Hotel St. Moritz or at the restaurant „Chesa al Parc“ (next to the “Kulm Hotel”). If you would like to have dinner at one of the à la carte restaurants "The Pizzeria" or the "Rôtisserie des Chevaliers", we are happy to grant you a special half-board credit of CHF 35.- / € 22.- per adult per evening. Please note that due to restraint capacities, a reservation made at the front office of our hotel is mandatory.

  • The Pontresina hoteliers’ “Gourmet Carousel” (from 5 January till 9 April 2009)
    Or you can jump aboard the Pontresina half-board carousel and sample what our colleagues have to offer instead (participating hotels only). What better way could there be to sample Pontresina’s culinary variety at first hand?

Half-board credit

Should you not dine at our establishment, to qualify for a half-board credit please notify reception the day before and we will credit your account. Please note: except for missed gourmet half-board meals we cannot give credit on half-board packages.

Additional bed

  • Additional bed for children aged 0 to 2 free of charge
  • Additional bed for children aged 3-5 years (based bed & breakfast) CHF 40.- / € 25.-
  • Half-board surcharge for children 3-5 years à la carte
  • Additional bed for children 6-11 years (including half-board) CHF 95.- / € 59.-
  • Additional bed for children 12 and up and adults (half-board included) CHF 180.- / € 113.-,
    (20 December 2008 – 13 January 2009 CHF 195.- / € 122.-)

Parking

The new underground car park which is connected directly to the hotel offers 100 parking spaces. We charge an obligatory fee of CHF 18.- / € 11.-per day and car.

Dogs

Well educated dogs are welcome at our hotel for a daily fee of CHF 45.- / € 28.- per day (not including dog food).

Check-in / check-out

Without other written consent:

  • on the day of arrival, your room is available from 3.00 pm, or earlier if possible
  • on the day of departure, you are kindly requested to have made your room available by 12.00 noon
  • rooms will be allocated according availability within the confirmed room category

Package Deals

  • While we hold a certain number of rooms for our package deals, no more such rooms may be available for the package of your choice.
  • Packages are not subject to the minimum-stay rule.
  • We cannot assume liability for services provided by third parties.
  • To ensure that spa treatments in your package are in fact available, please book them at the time you book your package deal. Let us know any further wishes you might have.
  • We are unable to refund the cost of unused services included in the package.
  • Treatments included in the package are not interchangeable.
  • Guests may cancel or change appointments for treatments at 24 hours’ notice.

Booking guarantee / advance payment

  • The reservation will first be definite with an advance payment or a payment with credit card.
  • The mode of advance payment is entirely up to the hotel.
  • The hotel is entitled to charge 50% of the expected total amount for advance payment after conclusion of the contract. Our bank account is Credit Suisse St. Moritz, 252300-01-35, clearing 4835, SWIFT CRESCHZZ75A, IBAN CH86 0483 5025 2300 01035.
  • For group reservations, the advance payment is to be made until 90 days prior to arrival and for individual reservations it is to be made until 20 days prior arrival. For bookings between 20 December 2008 and 13 January 2009 the prepayment has to be done with completion of a contract (booking confirmation).
  • If the advance payment does not arrive in time at the bank account of the hotel, it is entitled to withdraw from the contract.
  • In case of act of god, the hotel reserves the right to withdraw from the contract.

Cancellation policy

Article 160, Swiss obligation law, penalty for nun-fulfilment of a contact

  • A confirmed reservation can be cancelled without charge up to twenty-one days in advance.
  • Between eleven and twenty days in advance – subject to cancellation fee of 50% of the gross confirmed room rate but for no more than five days. The cancellation fee for a package deal is 50% of the total confirmed price.
  • Cancellations ten days or less in advance counts as “no show” meaning that you will be charged the full price (100% of the gross confirmed room rate incl. half-board) for the days actually booked.
    The cancellation fee for a package deal is 100% of the total confirmed price.
  • Changes for double or single using will be disregarded unless you inform us of the change in writing at least 10 days in advance. If booked double rooms are still be occupied by only one person, you will be charged the confirmed double occupancy price.
  • Premature departure and / or late arrival count as “no show”, meaning that you will be charged the full price, unless you inform us of the change in writing at least ten days in advance.
  • Cancellations or changes of reservation must be made in writing.
  • Any disputes shall be made in Pontresina and in accordance with Swiss law.


Cancellation during the Holiday Season (20 December 2008 to 13 January 2009)

Article 160, Swiss obligation law, penalty for nun-fulfilment of a contact

  • Between fifteen and twenty-nine days in advance – subject to cancellation fee of 50% of the room rate for the total confirmed period. A booked package deal will be charged with 50% of the confirmed entire price.
  • Cancellations fourteen days or less in advance counts as “no show” meaning that you will be charged the full price (100% of the gross confirmed room rate including half-board and New Year’s Eve supplement) for the days actually booked.
    The cancellation fee for a package deal is 100% of the total confirmed price.
  • Changes for double or single using will be disregarded unless you inform us of the change in writing at least fourteen days in advance. If booked double rooms are still be occupied by only one person, you will be charged the confirmed double occupancy price.
  • Premature departure and / or late arrivals counts as “no show”, meaning that you will be charged the full price, unless you inform us of the change in writing at least fourteen days in advance.
  • Cancellations or changes of reservation must be made in writing.
  • Any disputes shall be made in Pontresina and in accordance with Swiss law.


We will gladly send you some information about “MOBI TOUR” cancellation-insurance provided by Swiss Mobiliar Versicherungsgesellschaft. Please note that to be valid, such an insurance policy must be taken out before returning your booking form.
