covid-19 safety measures

Dear guests,

We want you to enjoy many wonderful and memorable moments when you spend your holidays with us in the Engadine. 

At Grand Hotel Kronenhof, the health and safety of our guests and staff is our top priority. Based on the guidelines of the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health, the Grand Hotel Kronenhof team has prepared this document to familiarise you with the extensive measures we are implementing to contain the COVID-19 pandemic. Please note, changes may be made at short notice to reflect the decisions of both the Federal Council and the Federal Office of Public Health. Due to these measures, you may notice a few changes and minor restrictions in our offer.

Covid-19 protection measures



General Information & Public Areas
  • Please note that in canton of Graubünden there is an obligation to wear masks in all publicly accessible indoor areas including hotel, restaurants and bars.
  • We have provided many disinfectant dispensers in the hotel. Please use them, especially before entering the hotel, restaurant or spa.
  • Cleaning and disinfection processes in the hotel have been enhanced.
  • Please consider the shown maximum capacity of guests (elevators, washrooms, etc.) and keep the minimum distances.
  • Newspapers can be ordered at the concierge for a charge
  • We ask you to visit us if you are completely healthy only. If symptoms of illness or indisposition occur during your stay, please contact reception immediately and do not leave your room for the time being. In case you receive a positive test of COVID-19 within 2 weeks after departure or a restaurant/spa visit, please inform us immediately
Guest Transport & Valet Parking
  • During transfers it is obligatory for our guests to wear a mask.
  • Antiseptic solution dispensers are available in every vehicle on request.
  • Vehicles will be cleaned after every transport.
  • You may park your car by yourself or tentatively you may use our valet parking as usual.
      • Please desinfect your hands when entering the hotel.
      • Protection kits will be available at the reception.
      • Your body temperature can be checked upon request.
      Reception & Concierge
      • Our porters are wearing gloves and will hand over / take over your luggage at your room door – your room will be entered upon request only.
      • Due to the distance regulations, we can serve a maximum of 4 parties (1-2 guests each) – if all stations are busy, we kindly ask you to wait in the lobby.
      • Online check-in is available prior to arrival.
      • Late check-out after 12.00 h is available upon request only.
          Public Areas
          • Cleaning and disinfection processes in the hotel have been enhanced
          • Please consider the shown maximum capacity of guests (elevators, washrooms, etc.)
          • Please keep distance of 1.5 meters
          Guest Rooms
          • Our cleaning staff wears gloves and masks - gloves are changed after every room cleaning.
          • Cleaning processes as well as turndown services will be carried out in your absence only. If you do not require any service during your stay, please inform the reception accordingly.
          • Rooms will be ventilated regularly and disinfection processes take place daily.
          Restaurants & Bars & Roomservice
          • Please note that it is a duty to wear a mask at any time in restaurants or bars. Only when seated at your table you may take it off.
          • Please disinfect your hands when entering a restaurant or bar.
          • The mandatory distance will also be kept between the tables.
          • Please wait to be seated.
          • From external guests contact information is collected from one person at the table.
          • There are no restrictions on the maximum number of people at a table in indoor and outdoor restaurants.
          • You can help yourself to the breakfast buffet with disposable gloves
          • All dishes and drinks ordered via room service will be covered and delivered at your room door – we will enter your room upon request only
                  Kronenhof Spa & Gym
                  • Please disinfect your hands and wear your mask when entering our spa or gym area. The mask can be removed for activities where a mask cannot be worn, such as endurance training in the gym.
                  • Please consider the shown maximum capacity of guests in the different spa areas.
                  • To use the individual saunas we ask you to register in advance with your room number in the attendance list in the spa area.
                  • The water quality of each pool is checked regularly
                  • We will check your body temperature prior to each treatment and ask you to wear a mask – our therapists are equipped with safety equipment as well
                  • Each guest is requested to disinfect the used fitness equipment prior and after use
                        Krönchen Kid's Club
                        • Please disinfect your hands when entering the kid’s club
                        • Body temperature of each child will be checked before participating in the programme
                        • All toys will be cleaned regularly

                        On request, we will be happy to provide you with the detailed precautionary and protective measures that we are implementing. 

                        We would like to point out that despite all these precautionary and protective measures, it is of course possible that our hotel could suffer from a COVID-19 outbreak. Please note that Grand Hotel Kronenhof accepts no liability for this and refuses to make any subsequent financial claims, including those arising from restrictions to our offer. 

                        It is our goal to implement all measures in such a way that maximum safety is guaranteed for our guests, while continuing with our unique Kronenhof service.
