The name of this exciting 65-kilometre cross-country ski race is Romansh for "The Diagonal": a reference not only to the diagonal stride used in the classic style of Nordic skiing, but also to the course, which leads diagonally across the map of the Engadin. The circular route showcases glorious winter scenery: from Zuoz, along the river Inn, through the Staz forest, across Lake St. Moritz, into the Val Roseg, and via Pontresina and S-chanf back to Zuoz. At the finish line, competitors and spectators celebrate in suitable style in the historical village square. Enthusiasts who prefer a shorter and gentler race can tackle La Pachifica, which leads for 27 km from Zuoz to Pontresina and back to Zuoz. Anyone who would simply like to try out a cross-country ski event can take part in La Cuorta: at 11 km, this also makes an ideal family adventure.
As part of the internationally renowned Visma Ski Classics race series, La Diagonela is broadcast live in 20 countries, streamed online live and also broadcast by Eurosport in 60 countries.
