«Tales of a Tree» St. Moritz
Plazza Mauritius St. Moritz
Created in collaboration with the internationally reputed St. Moritz animation director Oliver Conrad, this musically accompanied video and light projection tells an imaginative Christmas story and brings winter landscapes to life.
During the festive season, the façade of the St. Moritz community centre. is transformed into an animated work of art with light, video and music when it gets dark. The 30-minute video and light projection is shown several times a day in a loop from 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
At the centre of ?Tales of a Tree? is once again a real Christmas tree. He and other real fir trees are mounted on the façade of the community centre in such a way that they become part of the Christmas projection. This year´s story is a kind of animated puppet musical in which Engadine forest animals are looking for the fragments of a star that has fallen apart. They take the viewer through an interstellar Christmas story to the song "Space Oddity" by David Bowie, here in a version sung by a children´s choir. This part of the show alternates with a projection in which St. Moritz photos can be seen from a new perspective. The pictures and winter landscapes are brought to life accompanied by music. On nine evenings the musician are performing live.
Live performances and concerts
An important innovation of ?Tales of a Tree? is the coordinated musical concept accompanying the performances. Six artists (Skor, Dea, Giorgina Hauser, Max Bunt, Balint Dodozi and Kalabrese) created the background music. Live performances and concerts accompany the Christmas projection on nine evenings in December, starting at 18:00 each time:
- Sunday 5 Dec: Erika Fatna
- Friday 17 Dec: Max Bunt
- Monday 27 Dec: Giorgina Hauser
- Tuesday 28 De: Mattoni Pazzi
- Wednesday 29 Dec: SKOR
- Thursday 30 Dec: Kalabrese und das Rumpel Orchester
- Friday 31 Dec: Balint Dobozi
